EVENT RULES, REGULATIONS & FORMAT
Moab Senior Games November 5 – 8, 2014
INTRODUCTION:
The 2014 Moab Senior Games will be held November 5 - 8, 2014 in Moab, Utah.
It is a unique special competitive and social event that combines sports and games
with entertainment and camaraderie.
Registration can be completed online at moabseniorgames.com. Some events have advanced registration only. Registration is not accepted over the phone, by fax or by email. Completed registration forms can be mailed to Moab Senior Games, P.O. Box 1469, Moab Utah or filled out on-line.
REGISTRATION:
Program registration is $32.00 applicable for each athlete. It covers administration costs, advertising and awards. There is also a per event cost for each event you enter. There will be a one-of-a kind Moab Senior Games T-shirt for participants to purchase.

All registrants will receive a receipt by mail confirming the events for which they have registered. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL in your registration if you registered on line. On line registration will receive confirmation by email. If there are any discrepancies with the event(s) for which you’ve registered, please contact the Sports office at 435-260-0161.
RULES:
Moab Senior Games follows the rules and regulations as set forth by the National Senior Games Association. The Official Sport Rules can be viewed here. For all other questions, please contact the Sports office at 435-260-0161.
AGE:
Age divisions for all singles events are determined by the athlete’s age as of Dec. 31, 2014. Age divisions for all doubles and mixed doubles events are determined by the younger age of the two athletes. Events will be broken up by age division when possible based on registration.
ATHLETE CHECK-IN AND FORFEITURE:
It is recommended that participants check in with the registration desk at least 30 minutes prior to the start of event. Athletes will receive a five-minute grace period before play begins. The event coordinator will announce a forfeit after the allotted time has passed. In addition to the registration waiver, individual event waivers must be signed and turned in prior to competing in any event.
RERUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
All refund requests must be in writing and postmarked by October 15, 2014. A $25 processing fee will be assessed. Refund checks will be mailed on October 31. No refunds will be made due to cancellation of an event because of inclement weather.
EQUIPMENT:
Participants are required to provide their own equipment, except as specified per their sport.
PHYSICAL CONDITION:
It is recommended that participant confer with their physician prior to this competition and train accordingly.
SUGGESTED ATTIRE:
Moab Senior Games T-shirts are available for pick up at the registration table. Proper attire refers to what is deemed appropriate for each event.
PROTEST POLICY:
Any person(s) wishing to file a protest with regard to any aspect of competition at the Moab Senior Games must bring the discrepancy to the attention of the event coordinator overseeing the event prior to the conclusion of the event. The event coordinator and a Moab Senior Games official will discuss the protest and render a decision based on their findings. All decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
HOW TO SUGGEST A RULE CHANGE:
Suggestions for rule changes must be submitted in writing to the Moab Senior Games office. The committee overseeing the program will review you suggestions. Once it is considered by the committee, you will receive a written response detailing what actions were taken if any.
INCLEMENT WEATHER/UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES:
The Moab Senior Games reserves the right to cancel any event due to insufficient registration, weather or events beyond their control. In the event of venue change or event cancellation, the information will be posted on the website, www.moabseniorgames.com.
Every effort will be made to contact entrants prior to the start of the Games.
DOUBLES EVENT:
Participants must have a partner to enter doubles events. You may compete with only one partner per event. Doubles teams with one Utah resident and one-out-of –state resident will be considered an out of state team. When registering on line you must spell your partners’ name correctly and enter your partner’s year of birth. If this is not done correctly the system will not match you with your partner.
